20 EPIC CHICAGO proposal spots
Chicago proposal spots for a romantic moment
Chicago is a gorgeous backdrop to get engaged. From the stunning riverwalk to the charming Lincoln Park south pond, there are many ideal Chicago engagement photography locations. The city is a dream for beautiful engagement portraits.

01
Buckingham Fountain
The iconic fountain located in Grant Park is a romantic spot for a proposal.
02
Millennium Park
Millennium Park has so many great spots. My favorite is the garden. The lush flowers and foliage against the cement and glass buildings are a beautiful contrast.

03
North Avenue Beach
Any movie shot around the lakefront features this view. It’s the classic Chicago shot with the Drake Hotel and Hancock Building in the background, making it one of the top Chicago engagement photography locations.
04
Lincoln Park South Pond
The Lincoln Park pond area is a great spot for engagement photos almost all year round.
In the summer, it overflows with flowers and vegetation. With views of the city and the honeycomb structure in the middle of the pond, it offers one of the many beautiful Chicago engagement photography locations.

05
Museum Campus
Of course the most popular spot for Chicago engagement photos around Museum Campus is
the skyline view by the Planetarium. But there are so many other little spots around the different museums that are stunning Chicago engagement photography locations.
06
Riverwalk
This section of the Chicago Riverwalk for engagement shoots is my sweet spot! Anywhere around Michigan Avenue is always crowded, but there are a few secret spots where you can escape the crowds.

07
Bridges
This is another of my favorite secret engagement shoot spots. If you can brave the trip through lower wacker drive, the view is incredible. And trust me, no tourists venture down there! And bonus, if it’s raining, you are mostly sheltered from the rain.
08
Art Institute Garden
Just next to the Art Institute of Chicago Museum is the gardens. There are two gardens, north and south. The beautiful trees covering the lush green foliage is so romantic.

09
Garfield Park Conservatory
If you are looking for a hot spot in the winter or just some lush green nature, the Garfield Park
Conservatory is a beautiful spot in the city. You will need to have a permit for engagement shoots and it’s definitely one of the Chicago engagement photography locations worth considering.
10
Olive Park
Located near Navy Pier, Olive Park is a gorgeous location for skyline and lake view. The jetty stretched over the lake makes a perfect spot to capture the lake with the city backdrop.

11
Honeycomb Pavillion
Right in the heart of the Lincoln Park south pond area is the honeycomb pavilion. It’s definitely not a secret spot and it’s very popular!
12
Lilly Pool
Unless you know this lovely spot is there, you’d likely walk by and never know it. Alfred Caldwell spent his own money to create this beautiful oasis for the public to enjoy. The pool eventually fell into ruin after years of neglect, but it was restored to its original beauty in 1997.

13
Franklin Street
The last bridge before Wacker turns is a stunning spot to propose and it usually is pretty quiet.
14
Montrose Harbor
With harbor, skyline and beach views, Montrose Harbor is a beautiful spot for a summer beachside shoot and is among the scenic Chicago engagement photography locations.

15
Rookery Building
The winding staircase with the big courtyard windows of the Rookery is stunning! You’ll need to get a permit to have a shoot at the Rookery.
16
Union Station
An iconic Chicago landmark, Union Station is a gorgeous spot to propose.

17
London House
The rooftop pergola at the top of London House is a gorgeous spot to propose. You need a permit for a shoot and they will block off the pergola and have champagne and roses.
18
Wrigley Building
Just off Michigan Ave, the Wrigley Building is so romantic with views of the river and buildings. There are always people around, however, so it probably won’t be private.

19
Lincoln Park Conservatory
Near the Lincoln Park Zoo is the beautiful conservatory. It’s full of lush greenery and flowers. It’s a very romantic Chicago proposal spot.
20
Humboldt Park
Humboldt Park is a lovely park with a boat house, pond and every changing foliage.

21
North Pond
On the other side of Fullerton is a secluded pond that has a pier so you can feel like you are in the middle of the pond.
